After getting going about 1 1/2 weeks ago running, I restarted the training program this past Monday. I must admit that I felt quite good after the week was over but still had some issues with lung capacity. This must be one of the toughest parts of running, getting your lungs back or in condition to handle the distances involved.

The start isn’t bad, and neither is the first half kilometer; it’s after this distance it feels like an elephant has taken up residence on my chest.  However, I imagine this too will pass.

It will pass because time and perseverance  are needed. And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m looking forward to picking up my training on Monday.

Good luck to all of you in today’s Run4Hope marathon and may you meet your personal goals.

  1. 40 something is right! Anyway, what running program are you using? We used the one by the running room which builds you up slowly. After some injury issues this is what I will be using again to start running.
