We’re now halfway through the year and it’s a good time to review some of the goals I set out at the beginning. Hopefully things are progressing well…

I took a look at my Nike+ account to look up some stats on my year so far with a hope that I’m pretty much halfway through my goals, although I do have a pretty significant Fall planned. With that in mind, here are my goals for 2011 and my progress so far:

2011 Resolutions

Workouts: 260 (5x/week)
Distance: 3000km | 57.7km/wk (1,864.11mi | 35.85mi/wk)
Pace: 4:35/km (7:23/mi)
Weight Loss: 5.44kg (12lbs)
Races: 12+ (two 5k’s, three 10k’s, five half marathons, two marathons)
Blog Posts: 156, an average of three posts per week

2011 Results to Date

Workouts: 121 (about 4.5x/wk)
Distance: 1370.78km | 52.7km/wk
Pace: 4:38/km
Weight Loss: 1kg
Races: 8 (three 5k’s, three half marathons, one 30k, one marathon)
Blog Posts: 60 so far

So far I haven’t hit any of my race goals for the season, although I did PR in the half (1:30:56.6 at the Ottawa Race Weekend – which is only about one and a half minutes short of my goal) and the 5k (18:48.2 at the Slainte Downhill 5k – which was just 18.2 seconds off of my goal). The Oasis Zoo Run will be my race to get in under 40 minutes for the 10k, and I have yet to select another race for the 5k (although the CrossRoads Turkey Run would be a great course for that).

I’m not too far off where I want to be for the year, but I do need to pick it up just a bit. Since March I’ve had declining mileage, and the past few weeks have been an on-again-off-again schedule as a result of injury prevention as I do some work on our house. However, with summer in full swing and the Fall Road2Hope Marathon front-and-center in my view, I’ve got a lot to look forward to.

I think I’ll be able to reach all of the goals, but it will take some hard work, which was anticipated for the Fall season. With the Downtown Dash 10k, Slainte Downhill 10k, Oasis Zoo Run 10k, Cross Roads Turkey Run 5k, NineRunRun Half, Army Run Half, Road2Hope Marathon, and the Hanukkah Hustle I’ll have my hands full in the last half of the year.
